The website of Mary Herczog – “Cancer Chick”
The world lost something special this week with her passing. Her account of her struggles with cancer is deeply moving, funny, real and positively heartbreaking all at the same time.
There has been a plethora of good reading at the literary magazines this week. Some of my favorites included:
“What Passes for Normal” by Michelle Reale in SmokeLong Weekly.
“American Past” by Dana Masden in Pindeldyboz
“The Glass Coffin” by Lucas Southworth in The Collagist.
“Things the Dictionary Will Not Tell a Person” by Brandon Will in Monkeybicycle.
Articles and other marginalia:
New York Times Book Review of THE POSSESSED by Elif Batuman.
